IT Technical Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) play a critical role in shaping and advancing IT’s AI strategy and roadmap. They are available for consultation and collaboration, offering technical leadership, education, and guidance. These experts serve as trusted advisors, helping teams navigate complex AI challenges and opportunities. We rely on them to provide strategic direction and ensure alignment with IT’s broader goals, making them essential partners in driving innovation and success in our AI initiatives.

The AI Program Operations Team oversees the AI Enablement Program, managing the progress of new use case requests, coordinating with requestors, providing technical guidance, fostering education and awareness, and ensuring effective risk management.

The team ensures that AI usage aligns with business goals, drives operational efficiency, and protects confidential information and intellectual property. The Committee’s primary focus includes:

• Fostering innovation and driving improved business outcomes through AI.
• Establishing clear policies and governance frameworks.
• Managing risks associated with AI adoption.
• Promoting responsible and ethical AI use across the organization.

Legal Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) partner with the AI Program Operations Team to ensure requests related to the AI Enablement Program are reviewed for Legal and Compliance risks, including data privacy, export control, confidentiality information protection, and other intellectual property issues.

Legal SMEs serve as representatives to the overall Legal and Compliance functions. They work with requesters and related stakeholders to understand proposed AI use cases, identify key issues, and help guide requests through Legal and Compliance clearance based on the identified issues. Legal SMEs also work with the AI Program Operations Team to optimize the intake and review process, and shape WD’s policies related to AI Enablement.
