AI Tool Dashboard: Available AI applications, models, and platforms.

Introduction

This AI Tool Dashboard provides information about AI applications, models, and platforms available for use by Western Digital employees.

For each tool, the Dashboard includes descriptions, examples of use, use restrictions, and next steps on how you can access.

Permitted & Prohibited Actions Overview

Permitted

  • You may use Cisco Public, Confidential, and Highly Confidential information with any of the AI tools available on the dashboard.

  • You are permitted to use GAI tools that are not in the dashboard, when using only public information, including Cisco Public data, or synthetic data.  This includes “proof of concept” or “trial” uses of new tools. Read this one-pager for more guidance.

  • AI-generated code must follow generative coding policy and be used with significant context to limit potential copyright concerns.
  • For tools not yet listed here, remember to submit a request for procurement with GPS and submit a CASPR review for AI governance, security, and privacy reviews. Please note that incorrect responses to the CASPR review may lead to delays in the process.

  • Use AI tools provisioned by Cisco only on Cisco equipment for Cisco work purposes.
  • If you would like to fine-tune a model, contact your Product Legal representative to get started.

Prohibited

  • Information classified as “Western Digital Restricted” should never be used in ANY AI tool.

  • Do not use the listed AI tools in a manner that conflicts with the Specific Use Restrictions in the AI Tool Dashboard.

  • Do not use non-public data in any AI tools not in the AI Tool Dashboard below. And non-public data should only be used in AI tools that have been procured through official Cisco channels. Do not use non-public data in any software or service that transmits data to any publicly accessible instance of an AI tool, model, or API. Non-public data includes all Cisco Confidential, Highly Confidential and Restricted Data, as well as our customer and employee data. See steps above to request review of a new tool for such use.
  • Do not agree to online terms & conditions for any AI tool or feature (even those listed below) if you will be using any data other than public or synthetic data. Cisco has negotiated specific terms for our use of the tools listed here and our contracts should govern. If prompted to sign new terms, submit a ticket with GPS for help!
  • Do not use AI in products without first obtaining an AI Impact Assessment from the AI Governance team. Submit an AI Intake Form to get started.

Guidance on Using Publicly Available AI Models in Western Digital Products and Operations

Introduction

The rapid evolution of AI model licensing has created a complex and sometimes confusing landscape. The below guidance provides Western Digital teams with advice on selecting and using publicly available AI models in Western Digital products, services, and internal operations. It also outlines compliance expectations and resources for legal consultation.

Guidance on Using Publicly Available AI Models

Testing or Procuring New AI Tools

Testing New AI Tools

  1. Publicly Available AI Chatbots

Publicly available AI chatbots may be used only if you are NOT using Western Digital Confidential, Highly Confidential, or Restricted Information, personal information, or customer data.

  2. Proof of Concept

You can test tools that are not yet listed on the dashboard only if you are NOT using Western Digital Confidential, Highly Confidential, or Restricted Information, personal information, or customer data AND you follow the simple rules described in Sections 4.1.2 and 4.2 of Cisco’s GenAI Policy. See this one-pager for more information.

  3. Locally Run Open-Source Models

Open-source models can be used with Western Digital Public, Confidential, or Highly Confidential data only if run on a local and isolated environment such as a Western Digital laptop or desktop computer.

Procuring New AI Tools

Please see this one-pager to learn how to procure a new tool not yet listed on this Dashboard. The Global Procurement Services (GPS) team works with legal partners to procure our contracts for these tools.

Remember to submit CASPR (which now includes the AI Impact Assessment) for new vendors! If you’re looking to turn on AI features outside of CASPR review cycle, please submit an AI Governance Intake Form. For information about the status of an assessment, please check OneTrust or CASPR first. If you need further assistance, reach out to the AI Governance team

No Restricted Data Allowed

No AI tool whatsoever may be used with Western Digital Restricted Data! The Western Digital Data Classification & Taxonomy describes Western Digital Restricted data as the most sensitive confidential information having the highest degree of restricted access and security protection:

  • Enterprise-wide impact within Western Digital and significant impact to partners, vendors, customers.

  • Severe risk to individuals (e.g., threat of identity theft, harm to the individual, misuse of Sensitive personal information, or violation of privacy).

  • Significant financial loss due to lawsuits, regulatory fines, and/or loss of strategic/business advantage.

Do not use Restricted Data with any AI system.  See examples of Restricted Data in the Data Advisor.
